Vitamin and Mineral supplement

Our customer asked:

What can I use as a vitamin and mineral supplement for my dog? He has multiple allergies and so I need to make up a home-made diet from fresh ingredients, avoiding beef, lamb, wheat, dairy products etc. What can I feed to my dog?

Our reply:

There are special diets which can be fed to dogs with multiple allergies, but they are not cheap. Purina HA is our best selling example, but Hills z/d or Royal Canin Anallergenic are other possibilities. These have all the correct nutrients added. Alternatively you can make up your own diet with fresh ingredients, avoiding the offending items, then add something like Vionate powder to supplement the vits and mins. It has a maize base as the filler, which should not upset your dog as long as it does not show up on the allergy screen tests..
