Our customer asked:

Our old cat is nearly 20! He has arthritis severely and suffers from chronic (but stable) kidney disease. He seems to be constipated these days and our vet has suggested lactulose. But we are wondering if there is something better for him. What can you suggest, please? He eats wet food mainly with some dry KD. He drinks water.

Our reply:

Katalax is often given to cats like this. It helps to lubricate things down there, so that it is easier to pass naturally. It tastes quite good, so can be put onto the back of the paws to be licked off by your cat. If that fails, then lactulose is indeed the usual product to try.
