Bought for Fern as she doesn't like the car, rubs her nose that bleeds. This stops her doing it so no sore nose.

Item is ok, however the parts that go into the slots very easily come out even without her shaking her body. When she did have a good shake she managed to dislodge all of them and get it off. In the end we had to use tape on them to keep them in place.

Is the collar held in the cone shape by Velcro or tabs of plastic that slot into holes?
This collar has plastic grooves that it slots into to secure itself.

Suitable for large dog with wound on hind quarters? Our large and long snouted dog can still lick a wound on his rear with the soft or inflatable collars. Would this work and if so how do I judge what size he needs? Many thanks
Yes this collar would be suitable to prevent your dog licking a wound in the hind quarters. You should make sure the collar size chosen is a few cms larger than the distance from the neck to the muzzle. Ideally measure this using measuring tape, the size of the collar in cms matches to this length.
