My 24 year old was getting a bit of gassy colic when our fields closed and he was stuck in. He was also a bit girthy so I thought with him being on pravicox and Prascend I thought it could be due to him having meds that could cause ulcers. 3 weeks in, no tummy issues and his belly is nice and soft. I highly recommend it ! The only negative it the tub is hard to open ever time I use it. I also split the dose in two feeds. One at night and two in morning he’s 16.2 Irish draught cross

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding NAF GastriAid for Horses, including answers from our team.
Emma
Can I give this to my pony a few days before a comp and do not give permanently?
Yes this product is FEI/Jockey Club Legal so is safe to use around competitions. You should follow the dosing guidance in regards to when to feed. The loading period is 3 to 10 days of a higher loading dose so it is recommended to be beyond the loading period and into the maintenance period for the best effects to be seen.
If you ensure a good loading period is carried out and your horse has just started the maintenance dose for when the competition starts then this should be appropriate.

What is the dosage and how long will the small tub last?
Hi Polly,
Here are the feeding guidelines for the product, to help you work out how long a tub would last:
Weight | g per day | scoops per day | |
---|---|---|---|
Horses | Loading rate (3-10 days) | 120 | 6 |
Maintenance | 60 | 3 | |
Ponies | Loading rate (3-10 days) | 80 | 4 |
Maintenance | 40 | 2 |
I hope this helps.
Wendy
Can gastriaid be used along side of pink powder?
Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your question.
I have spoken to NAF who assure me it will be fine to feed both together.
Hope this helps.

My horse has two feeds a day, can the daily dosage be split between the two feeds or is it best fed in one of them for the best results??? Plus he is unable to have alfa alfa a hes allergic, would it still be ok to use this??
It is best to divide the daily dose between the 2 feeds he has each day. It should be fine for him with his Alfalfa problem.
