REGULAR SOLE
The Sport Regular Sole Hoof Boot is sleek, lightweight and stylish, with all the performance you would expect from Cavallo. Sport boots are ideal for lighter riding and the Regular sole is shaped to fit a rounder hoof shape. Leather inside and out conforms comfortably to your horse’s bulbs. Sport boots are great for comfort for chronic pain and hoof sensitivity, rehabilitation from injuries, abscesses, navicular disease, laminitis/founder, punctures, sole bruising and contracted heels. Not just for riding, Sport boots can be used for protection during trailering and breeding or taken on the trail as a “spare tire” for lost shoes. The regular sole is suitable for a hoof that is width and length equal.
SLIM SOLE
The Sport Slim Sole Hoof Boot is made for a narrower hoof and lighter riding. Sleek, lightweight and stylish, with all the performance you would expect from Cavallo. Leather at the heel inside and out conforms comfortably to your horse’s bulbs.
Size Guide
1 ) Measure the hoof carefully just AFTER A FRESH TRIM.
2) Measure the length from the heel buttress line to the toe. Do NOT include heel bulbs. (Refer to the diagram and video below)
3) Measure right across the widest part of each hoof.
4) Compare your measurements to Cavallo sizing chart below. Stay within the boot size range as room for growth has already been allowed for between regular trims. The Cavallo Regular sole is best for a hoof that is measuring the same length and width. The Slim sole is 1/4 inch (6 mm) narrower than long and better suited to a more oval shaped hoof.
5) Please re-measure if the length is greater than the width by two sizes, 1/2 inch (12mm) or more.
Measuring Tips:
IMPORTANT: OUR MEASURING TOOL MAY NOT PRINT TO SCALE (which could result in incorrect sizing). Please check measurements against a ruler before proceeding to measure.
Simply insert hoof into boot. Secure Velcro® closures and adjust sliding keepers on the Simple boot or secure outside closure on the Sport boot.
Here you can see how the sole fits into the length of the boot and the heel bulbs fit into the padded heel area at the back of the boot.
Only new UNUSED boots can be exchanged. To keep the boot clean, we suggest covering the hoof with thin plastic and checking fit on a non-scuff (not gravel), clean, dry surface.
Like your own riding boots, it is recommended that time is taken to gradually break in your Cavallo Boots. If your horse has sensitive skin, or if you are going on a long ride and are concerned about potential rubbing, Cavallo Pastern Wraps are available. If your horse is fine boned and there is excess space between the pastern and the boot collar, wraps can also prevent major debris from entering the boot.
PLEASE NOTE: Boots cannot be exchanged if straps have been cut. Be sure boots are correct size BEFORE cutting.

Love them this is my 6th pair for all horses. My first pair is now about 3 years old.

I bought the Cavallo Horse Sport hoof boots for my lamanitic pony, he was often stabled due to bruised soles caused by hard ground or stoney/gravel track on way to his paddock, I thought would have a fight on my hands to get them on as he is sensitive with his feet, I used them initially for short periods in his stable for a couple of days just to get him used to them and couldn't believe how quick and easy they were to get on, I use the gel inserts for extra support with them, my pony has a new lease of life he's been able to be turned out in them every day no box rest for the first time in years (he goes out for 2-4 hrs), I've even purchased these for my other barefoot pony for the winter months and a spare set for my laminitic pony, they are very easy to measure for with a ruler and sizes fit perfect, would recommend for any horses with sensitive soles, viovet seems to be the lowest price for a pair and super fast delivery, very happy pony owner 😊👍🏻

Really nice product. Unfortunately, they were slightly to big for my horse, so have not been able to trial them fully. However, they were so easy to put on and seem robust and of good quality. I will be purchasing a smaller size as I feel that they will be a great alternative for shoes on his hind feet when out hacking.

This is the second pair I have brought, after my Vet advised me to purchase a pair. The first pair lasted 18 months+ wearing them every day for at least 5 hours a day. Therefore, excellent value. My horse loves them, and we have never looked back. ( Also the vet is very pleased with his feet now and had no trouble).

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Cavallo Horse Sport Hoof Boot, including answers from our team.
Belinda
Is it possible to use these boots on a shod horse when he is turned out as he keeps pulling his front shoes off?
Thank you
Hello Belinda,
Thank you for your question.
The Cavallo boots are designed to be used over the bare hoof while riding but can be used successfully in turnout and for extra protection over metal shoes. We would recommend that you gradually increase the amount of time your horse wears the boots and leaving them on 24/7 is not advised.
Hope this helps.
